Jumped on Twitter Bandwagon

December 13, 2008 by TFB

I keep hearing about Twitter. Wikipedia has this description:

"Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service, that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length."

Users broadcast quick updates on what they are doing or thinking. It's similar to blogging but because updates are limited to 140 characters, it's called micro-blogging.

Since I just signed up, I haven't completely figured out the best way to use it yet. I added some other bloggers to the list of people I will "follow" (receive their updates). I hooked up the feed of this blog to Twitter so new posts will automatically show up there. Right now I'm thinking I will do quick updates there if I don't have time to write a full post yet. Like if I'm reading a good book I will tweet about it before I write a full review. But I will not announce what I'm having for dinner.
