Explore TIPS One Year Anniversary: 50% Off PDF Edition

By Harry Sit

I published my small book on inflation indexed bonds Explore TIPS around this time last year. Back then I had no idea how it would do. I heard most self-published books sell no more than 100 copies. I used Amazon’s CreateSpace service because it has low fixed cost.

The results far exceeded my expectation. 700 people bought this book in the last year. Well known financial advisor and author Larry Swedroe wrote a  favorable review. Boston University professor Zvi Bodie also gave it a thumb up. Both reviews are unsolicited. Being an anonymous author, I could not have dreamed to receive attention from these thought leaders.

If you bought my book, I thank you for your support. I hope you found the book helpful. I also would like to hear from you what I should cover in the book but didn’t. Which parts are not clear or too difficult to understand?

The book’s customer reviews section on Amazon is a little lonely. 700 people bought the book but only five expressed their opinion. Please don’t be shy. Whether you liked the book, please add your review to Amazon. It will help me and others tremendously.

If you haven’t bought the book, here’s a deal. To celebrate its one-year anniversary, I’m offering 50% off on the PDF edition for the next 30 days. Instead of the regular $9.95 price, you pay only $4.95. If you prefer a paper copy, Amazon sells it for $10.65 right now. Either way, you get to learn how to protect your investment from inflation with TIPS.

    Hi TFB.

You may want to add a more obvious link to this article pointing to the page where one can buy the pdf version of the book.

Congratulations on results that exceeded your expectations. :)

    TFB,

I bought your book last month, but haven’t finished it yet, hence no review.
    So far, so good, though!

Bought it today, finally, look forward to reading it. Got the paper version on Amazon though, I never seem to get around to reading PDF books. Is it hard to publish to Kindle, or just not worth the added cost?

Thank you Jonathan. If it were a fiction, it would be really easy to convert from Word to Kindle format. With tables and figures it’s a little hard to make them look right on Kindle but not impossible. I just haven’t found the time to do it.

Kindle users told me the PDF displays OK on Kindle because the page size is similar. I put up a preview for people to test it on their device. I guess I should still invest the necessary time and energy to make it available on Kindle natively.

+1 for Kindle version (though I know it will take some doing to get graphs and tables to look right…it’s not that device’s strong suit by any stretch)…
