I think you are wrong on this..

- When you decide to close a credit card it does not effect the company much
but when creditor closes the individual's account, it effect their finance drastically. ( especially when its unexpected, as most customers who pay on time do not expect this to happen)

- The companies are living on your money, fees, interest rates etc...so atleast they should have minimum responsibility to explain it to you.

- When Chase decides to close Wamu cards.....they should atleast acknowledge it saying that they planning to close wamu credit cards.

Yes it's a two way street ....but bothways are controlled by chase......first they welcome you to chase ...later change the terms and policy......sending you a letter home....then closing it whenever they want. what control does an individual have on it??

I was recently dumped by Chase/Wamu and not happy about it for it will show on my credit report and lower my score...or so says Money magazine. I'm doing all I can to up that score but when things like this happen, I can't do anything about it.
And, I had a low balance and paid in full each month! egads

I agree with you completely. The only thing I think there should be reform on is better disclosure. It is unsecured debt and the credit card companies have to be careful about their exposure.
