Skype: 1 year of unlimited calls to US and Canada for $14.95
Skype is a Voice over IP (VoIP) and chat software. You can make computer-to-computer calls with Skype and several other chat programs. What’s unique with Skype is that you can call regular phone numbers as well. They are having a promotion for 1 year of unlimited calls to any phone number in the U.S. and Canada for $14.95 if you buy before Jan. 31, 2007. $15 a year for unlimited calls to any number in the U.S. and Canada is a great deal. Similar service costs $25 a month from Vonage or $20 a month from Packet8. Skype’s voice qualify is very good. When I call someone with Skype, they can’t tell I’m calling from a computer. I get better voice quality on Skype than on my land line when I call Canada. Skype download is free. All you need is an Internet connection and a $10 headset.
